The lyrics to the above are really soul-stirring so I wanted to share:
Come, we that love the Lord,
And let our joys be known;
Join in a song with sweet accord,
And thus surround the throne.
Refrain:
We’re marching to Zion,
Beautiful, beautiful Zion;
We’re marching upward to Zion,
The beautiful city of God.
The sorrows of the mind
Be banished from the place;
Religion never was designed
To make our pleasures less.
Let those refuse to sing,
Who never knew our God;
But children of the heav’nly King
May speak their joys abroad.
The men of grace have found
Glory begun below;
Celestial fruits on earthly ground
From faith and hope may grow.
The hill of Zion yields
A thousand sacred sweets
Before we reach the heav’nly fields,
Or walk the golden streets.
Then let our songs abound,
And every tear be dry;
We’re marching through Immanuel’s ground
To fairer worlds on high.
Hey stranger! Good to see you.
Hi there to you too Wally!
My goodness, I just approved your comment from last July 8 months after you made it. My bad, I’ve been terribly slack with my online witnessing over many months, letting my career/job responsibilities assume too much of a focus.
Kindly pray for me, that I will build up ever stronger faith in the Lord until He sees fit to take me to heaven.
Very sorry I did not approve this earlier. I hope you’re doing well?
Naomi
Well hello dear Sister. How funny! I am well, thank you. On vacation this week, as it is Spring Break in our schools. I hope and pray your new job is going well? I look forward to seeing you write more some day!
Wally
Thanks Wally, I hope your break is a good one. I hope to write more in coming weeks. Thanks for the encouragement. 🙂
Naomi
Thanks Naomi!
I love hearing these “classic” hymns with such a powerful message. Thanks for sharing.
